Documentary;Shop owners

For the past 9 months i have been working on a portrait assignment about shopowners in Italy and Iceland, and the concept is basic, just the shopowners or workers in the shops outside of the shops. This has been in my head for many years and i am happy i have started on this.

Sumarhátíð á Barónsborg

My mother is a nanny in the kindergarden Barónsborg at barónstígur in Reykjavík, and she asked me to photograph a summerfestival wich they were having. this was a great day, with hot dogs and singing and plays and everything that a good summerfest should have.

Here are some photos that i had in a photo exhibition in Florence Italy in April 2009...
I had three different assignments in the exhibit and it was a great night.

The immigrant hospital
I had been working in an abandoned hospital outside of florence, where there lived about 300 rumenina families. I went there for over 7 months period about 10 times.
the people there are great they live together in a small hospital room maybe 10-15 together and they are very happy with there accomidations. Great people and a grea experience getting to photograph there lives.






The Iceland Riots
the second assignment was about the Icelandic riots evolving the Financial crisis in Iceland. i had these photos and more, and a small video with music, text and photos.




NUMB
The third project was a portrait assignment with girls from across the globe with mascara running down there faces like they were crying. This had been in my mind for many years and i was quite pleased with it.








This was great fun, having my photos in front of all these people and i hope to do it very soon. Here are some of my photos if you would like to check it out.
